QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:

  • AQF Certificate III in Plumbing (or equivalent), with at least two years of on-the-job training
  • Current registration or plumbing license as required by state/territory regulations
  • Proven experience across a variety of plumbing systems including water, gas, sewerage, and drainage
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail
  • Good communication and time management skills
  • Capable of working independently and collaborating with other trades

Responsibilities

ABOUT THE ROLE:

We are seeking a qualified and reliable Plumber (General) to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing water, gas, drainage, and sewerage systems in residential, commercial, and industrial environments. This position requires a licensed professional with strong technical knowledge, problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Interpret blueprints, plans, and specifications to determine layout and materials for plumbing systems
  • Set out and install hot and cold water systems, piping, valves, and associated fixtures
  • Design and install sanitary plumbing systems, water supply lines, discharge pipes, and sanitary appliances
  • Install drainage systems, including below-ground sewerage infrastructure and effluent pumping equipment
  • Fabricate and install soil and waste stacks, rainwater goods, metal roofing, and roof flashings
  • Install gas appliances, pressure regulators, flues, and ensure compliance with safety standards
  • Assemble and install mechanical services plant and heating/cooling systems such as air handlers and small-bore heating
  • Maintain and repair existing plumbing systems, ensuring ongoing compliance with building and safety codes
  • Perform scheduled testing and maintenance of plumbing infrastructure
  • Adhere to occupational health and safety regulations and industry best practices
