Job Type: Full-time working maximum 50 hours per week – 10 hours of OT
Location: Prince Rupert
Hours: Monday to Friday
Salary: $39.14 to $44.35 based on relevant education and/or level of experience
Reports to: Site Supervisor

POSITION SUMMARY:

IPH is looking for certified Journeyman Plumber to perform plumbing and fire-protection work. In this role you will install, maintain and repair piping systems while ensuring all work meets provincial codes and safety standards.

SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Ability to work in various construction environments.
  • Ability to work in varying weather conditions where there is exposure to dust, water, noise and physical hazards.
  • Valid Journeyman credentials in Plumbing
  • Thorough understanding of plumbing systems.
  • Ability to work safely and follow instructions.
  • Thorough knowledge of the applicable building code
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Good physical stamina and the ability to lift heavy materials.
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
Responsibilities
  • Plan, install, test and service plumbing systems and fixtures such as water supply, heating, drain/waste/vent, low-pressure systems.
  • Lay out, install, test, maintain and repair fire-suppression systems (e.g., wet/dry pipe sprinkler systems, standpipes, carbon dioxide/foam systems, fire pump systems).
  • Read blueprints, engineered drawings to determine system layout to prepare and install piping systems.
  • Measure, cut and assemble piping (copper, steel, PVC, etc.) and install associated equipment Handle tools and equipment safely while ensuring proper maintenance and usage.
  • Perform inspection of plumbing systems for leaks and proper operation using air or water pressure to verify integrity.
  • Maintain accurate records of work (as-built drawings, service logs, reports). Communicate with supervisors, clients and inspectors regarding project status, safety issues and code compliance. Prepare material lists or cost estimates if required
  • Adhere to company safety protocols, local building codes, and industry regulations.
