QUALIFICATIONS:

Required:

• Completion of high school or trade school.
• Minimum of three (3) years experience in industrial maintenance.
• Must be able to distinguish and identify colors.
• Able to read, write and speak English
• Must have a valid NJ Drivers License.

SCHEDULING REQUIREMENTS (NON-EXEMPT POSITIONS REMOVE WHEN POSTING):

• Monday - Friday
• 8:00am 4:30pm
• Full-Time

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• The Maintenance Mechanic/Plumber is expected to perform inspections of the hospital building systems and equipment.
• The mechanic should be able to repair hospital equipment, systems, and building components, work in conjunction with the Project Team, and have working knowledge of plumbing codes.
• The Maintenance Mechanic/Plumber should have knowledge of the operation of hospital systems such as, but not limited to electrical, plumbing, HVAC, medical gases and elevators, installing new domestic hot and cold water lines, new heating, chilled water and steam lines, repair leaking pipes, thread pipe, solder pipe, work on waste lines, install, replace and repair faucets, valves, floats, pumps, drains and traps.
• The Maintenance Mechanic should have some knowledge of reading blue prints and drawings of the hospital buildings and system. Will work in conjunction with the Project Team focusing on safety, quality and productivity.
• The Maintenance Mechanic/Plumber will participate in snow removal activities as required. The Maintenance Mechanic/Plumber will provide assistance to Electricians, HVAC mechanics and other members of the Plant Svcs. Dept. concerning repair and/or replacement of specialized equipment and system components.
• May be required to pick up materials from suppliers in order to complete a work order. The Maintenance Mechanic will have knowledge of and adherence to written departmental policies and procedures and all other duties as assigned.
