Description
Under the direction of the Supervisor, Facilities, the Plumber performs inspections and repairs to the interior and exterior plumbing systems of the enterprise Facilities. This position uses a proactive and innovative approach to complete repairs for complex plumbing problems as well as to develop new creative solutions. In addition, this position is responsible for resolving current issues, as well as implementing and maintaining preventative maintenance. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 1. Installs, maintains, and repairs interior and exterior water supply systems, water distribution systems, sewer and wastewater systems, plumbing fixtures, stacks, brackets, traps, vents, and insulation. Responsible for implementing and maintaining the preventative maintenance program for water supply systems, water distribution systems, and sewer and wastewater systems. 2. Services, repairs, and installs water heaters, tubs, toilets, sinks, faucets, showers, various valves, pipes, drains, water softeners, boilers, water heaters, tankless water heaters, copper and cast-iron water lines, etc. Operates drain cleaning machines, leak detectors, water jetters, augers, hand tools, aerial lifts, pipe threaders, torches, pipe benders, press tools, etc. 3. Reviews and interprets blueprint and building specifications to create and update map layouts for pipes, drainage systems, and other plumbing materials. Organizes and thoroughly prepares for repairs, installations and preventative maintenance by examining building layouts, anticipating challenges, gathering materials, and coordinating on-site work as needed. Documents work performance, material usage, estimated repair time and status using work order system. 4. Assists various departments and/or contractors with completing projects or installation of equipment where plumbing expertise is required. 5. Cleans and maintains all work areas, and takes inventory of plumbing supplies, and equipment, and reports needs to supervisor. Takes all necessary safety precautions in compliance with San Manuel policies and procedures and all health and safety regulations. 6. Performs other duties as assigned to support the efficient operation of the department. EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS High School Diploma or GED required. Minimum two (2) years of verifiable experience in residential and/or commercial plumbing required. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSA) Basic knowledge and understanding of building maintenance, electrical and HVAC required. Experience with the use of different types of plumbing tools and equipment preferred. Ability to read and interpret blueprints and plumbing diagrams required. Basic knowledge and understanding of building maintenance, electrical and HVAC preferred. LICENSES, CERTIFICATIONS AND REGISTRATIONS At the discretion of the San Manuel Tribal Gaming Commission, you may be required to obtain and maintain a gaming license. Plumbing certification at the Journeyman level preferred. Authorized Driver: Role requires operation or driving of Tribe-owned vehicles or driving patron vehicles. A valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record as determined by the insurance carrier is required. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/ WORKING CONDITIONS – ENVIRONMENT The physical demands and working environment described here are representative of those that an employee encounters and must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Primary work environment is typically in a climate-controlled setting. Work requires travel to attend meetings, trade shows, and conferences. Incumbents may be required to work evening, weekend and holiday shifts. Must be able to work in a fast-paced, high-demand environment. Strength sufficient to exert up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects and/or move up to 40 pounds occasionally. Mobility sufficient to safely move in an office environment, walk, stoop, bend and kneel, and enter, exit and operate a motor vehicle in the course of travel to promotional events, meetings, conferences, trade shows and San Manuel properties. Endurance sufficient to sit, walk and stand for extended periods, and maintain efficiency throughout the entire work shift and during extended work hours.
