Description

We are currently recruiting for a Plumber to join our Mechanical Division in mid-west Region on a full time, permanent contract.

SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED

  • QQI Level 6 Advanced Certificate (or equivalent) in Plumbing
  • SOLAS Safe Pass and a Manual Handling certificate
  • A minimum of 4 years’ experience in a fast paced commercial environment
  • Understanding of construction documentation an advantage
  • Problem-solving - to take controlled / real time approach to problems and solving them
  • Conscientious with a high attention to detail and an ability to multitask
  • Motivated self-starter, who can work both independently or as part of a team
  • Capable of prioritising tasks whilst possessing the ability to work under pressure
  • Excellent communication skills, with fluent English
Responsibilities
  • Required to conduct mechanical installations, gas welding, soldering, brazing and all associated mechanical plant.
  • Involved in both the installation and maintenance of hot and cold water systems in domestic and commercial buildings, sanitation, drainage and heating systems, electronic controllers, theory and practice
  • Assist with the training of apprentices and continue to mentor and develop same
  • Ability to effectively read drawings and design specifications in accordance with the requirements of a project
  • Review design process to ensure that installations are fit for purpose
  • You will be required to identify materials required for site, and liaise with the Procurement Department regarding same
  • Co-ordination of delivery of materials to site, when required, including checking quantity and quality of deliveries and taking full responsibility for same
  • Liaise with foreman, main contractors and other trades personnel as and when required
  • Will be required to have a full and thorough understanding of Health & Safety and Quality Procedures associated with all aspects of the job
  • Capable of taking instruction from Foreman and/or Senior Management and ensure all project deadlines/milestones are achieved on or ahead of schedule
  • Analyses and quickly resolves any work problems that may arise and ensures that all deficiencies on any given project are corrected in a timely manner
  • Other ad hoc duties as assigned by site management
  • Support the Project Manager in promoting a culture of excellent customer service and establishing exceptional working relationships with your colleagues and the client/s
  • Act as a brand ambassador and lead the Company through its ongoing expansion
  • Any other duties as deemed necessary for the efficiency of the business
