REQUIRED SKILLS:

  • Strong Plumbing background in light commercial / industrial construction
  • Solid team player with a positive attitude
  • Strong time management skills
  • High attention to detail and accuracy supported by strong analytic skills
  • Thrives on managing multiple priorities and project deadlines
  • Proficient with developing resource loaded project schedules
  • Proven ability to close complex tenders, bids and proposals
  • Excellent computing background, including experience with MS Office and Estimating software packages
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:

  • Previous Plumbing commercial and light industrial estimating experience working with a general or mechanical contractor
  • 5-10 years of estimating
  • Fluent in reading mechanical, electrical, process and control drawings, & civil drawings
  • Construction background preferred

Responsibilities
  • Manage all aspects of the Plumbing bidding phase during tendering
  • Review request for proposals issued by clients
  • Finalize and compile tender documents for review and submission
  • Support sub-contract, proposal, and estimating strategies
  • Apply technical experience to interpret documentation, specifications, and drawings
  • Prepare quantity take-offs for labour and material costing
  • Prepare BOMs to support procurement requirements
  • Prepare submission schedules and manpower loading profile
  • Review and evaluate vendor and sub-contractor quotes
  • Work with Construction Manager to select and equipment and subcontractors for projects.
  • Attend and participate in site-visits, as well as pre-bid and post-bid meetings
  • Establish and maintain vendor and subcontractor relationships
  • Follow all company policies and procedures
  • Perform other duties, as required
