Recently, Global Infrastructure Solutions Inc. (GISI), the parent company of The LiRo Group and Hill International, Inc. consolidated a portion of the highly experienced staff of both LiRo and Hill in the Northeast to create a larger, more efficient, and cost-effective team to serve clients. LiRo-Hill is a 1100-person firm with offices in NYC, Long Island, Buffalo, Rochester, Boston and Metro Park, NJ.

Responsibilities

  • Design of Plumbing and Fire Protection systems for commercial, industrial, municipal and healthcare facilities
  • Conduct site visits, inspections, field surveys to support design and construction phases
  • Preparation of construction documents including drawings, specifications, calculations, riser diagrams and details
  • Ensure designs comply with applicable codes and standards.
  • Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams including architectural, mechanical, electrical, and other team members.
  • Review of submittals and RFIs during construction administration
  • Serve as Project Engineer and Project Manager on smaller, less complex projects
  • Use engineering and design computer software to complete assigned work (i.e. Autodesk Revit MEP & AutoCAD)

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering or similar
  • 3-7 years of relevant Plumbing and Fire Protection design experience
  • Working knowledge of relevant codes and standards (e.g., NFPA, IPC, ASPE).
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit; experience with hydraulic calculation software.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
  • EIT certification preferred, PE license in progress.

PREFERRED SKILLS:

  • Ability to work independently with general instructions / guidance from senior engineers to produce the expected results
  • Experience with sustainable design and LEED-certified projects.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to multitask to meet specific project deadlines.
