Job Details Job Location: Building & Zoning - Edwradsville, IL 62025 Position Type: Full Time Salary Range: $26.82 - $26.82 Hourly Job Shift: Day Job Category: AFSCME Summary of Position Responsible for inspection activities to enforce and ensure compliance with the Plumbing Code and other Building and Zoning Codes and Ordinances. Examples of Duties and Responsibilities Reviews building plans to assure compliance with the Plumbing Code Approves plumbing permits Performs inspections of new buildings constructed within county jurisdiction to ensure compliance with the Plumbing Code and other county ordinances. Assists building inspectors with routine inspections of building footings and foundations, drywall, smoke detectors and safety systems, etc. and performs final construction inspections in compliance with County codes and ordinances. Prepares and maintains daily reports/records of activities, maintains and updates computerized/non computerized files. Receives and refers requests and inquires, answers questions, supplies information concerning County Building and Zoning Codes and Ordinances. Performs inspections of new private sewage installations and assures compliance with ordinances. Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above. Minimum Qualifications A high school diploma or equivalent, a certification as a licensed plumber in the State of Illinois for at least the past seven years, and a valid driver’s license are required. Physical Requirements The employee may be required to walk or move up to 200 feet from primary desk. The employee is occasionally required to stand and stoop, kneel or crouch. The employee may occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Some specific vision abilities are required by this job. Responsibilities
The Plumbing Inspector is responsible for inspecting plumbing installations to ensure compliance with the Plumbing Code and other relevant ordinances. This includes reviewing building plans, approving permits, and conducting inspections of new constructions and sewage installations.
