As we continue to scale our plumbing division, we are looking for a Plumbing Manager who can lead a team of high-performing technicians to new heights. The Role As the Residential Plumbing Manager, you are the heartbeat of the plumbing department. Your job is to recruit, train, and mentor our technicians while ensuring the department hits its growth and profitability goals. You’ll be the technical expert, the motivational coach, and the operational strategist all rolled into one. Key Responsibilities Lead & Coach: Conduct weekly tool-box talks and one-on-one coaching sessions to improve technician performance, communication, and sales skills. The "MVP Standard": Perform "ride-alongs" and quality-control site visits to ensure every job is performed safely, to code, and to our high standards of excellence. Operational Performance: Partner with the General Manager and Branch Controller to review department P&Ls, job costing, and technician KPIs (Average Ticket, Conversion Rate, etc.). Technical Support: Act as the final point of escalation for complex technical issues in the field. Recruitment & Retention: Work closely with our recruiting team to identify, hire, and onboard the best plumbing talent in Kansas City. Dispatch Partnership: Collaborate with the dispatch team to ensure the right tech is sent to the right job at the right time. What We’re Looking For A Leader, Not Just a Boss: You lead by example. You know how to hold a team accountable while keeping morale high. Trade Expertise: You are a Master or Journeyman Plumber with a deep understanding of residential systems and local Kansas City codes. Business Acumen: You understand that "Gross Margin" isn't just a buzzword. You know how to manage inventory, labor hours, and callbacks to ensure profitability. Tech Savvy: You are comfortable using ServiceTitan to track performance and manage the department’s workflow. Qualifications Experience: 5+ years of residential plumbing experience, with at least 2 years in a leadership or management role. Licensing: Valid Journeyman or Master Plumber license (Preferred). Communication: Exceptional ability to explain technical concepts to customers and motivate a diverse team of technicians.
