About the Job We are currently seeking a detail-oriented Steward to join our team at The Seagate. The Steward will play a vital role in maintaining cleanliness and organization in our kitchen and dining areas, while also assisting with various food preparation tasks. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and a commitment to delivering excellence in hospitality. What You Do: * Wash and properly store all cooking utensils, pots, china equipment, flatware, and glassware. * Operate dishwashing machines to clean all wares, ensuring they are thoroughly sanitized. * Hand wash delicate items as necessary. * Polish silverware and platters to maintain a high standard of presentation. * Collect and dispose of trash from kitchen areas, including emptying garbage barrels and relining with new bags. * Inspect garbage for any misplaced silverware, dishes, or glassware. * Clean and polish all stainless steel surfaces in the kitchen, including shelves, dish cabinets, ice machines, and refrigerators. * Maintain cleanliness in receiving and trash areas. * Sweep and mop kitchen floors to ensure a safe and sanitary environment. * Store all dishes and wares in designated areas, following proper storage procedures. * Clean the dishwashing machine after each meal period to prevent buildup and ensure optimal performance. * Assist with food preparation tasks as needed, such as putting away deliveries and cleaning coolers and storerooms. * Adhere to all safety and sanitation protocols to maintain compliance with health regulations. What You Bring to the Table: * Ability to lift and carry objects weighing up to 30 lbs comfortably. * Stand and walk for extended periods. * Bend, stoop, and reach to perform various tasks. * Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment. * Previous experience in a similar role is preferred but not required. * Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. * Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team. * Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.

Responsibilities

The Steward is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and organization of kitchen and dining areas by washing, sanitizing, and storing all cooking utensils, flatware, and glassware. This role also involves disposing of trash, cleaning stainless steel surfaces, mopping floors, and assisting with basic food preparation tasks as needed.
