JOB SUMMARY:
- Coordinates surgical procedures scheduling aspects.
- Assists with the center activities’ daily operation in accordance with federal, state, and Surgery Center policies and procedures.
- Coordinates receiving and admitting activities.
- Promotes communication throughout the facility.
- Performs clerical and reception duties.
- Maintains facility medical records in accordance with established guidelines and requirements.
- Participates actively developing a healthy work environment.
- Utilizes interpersonal skills to establish and maintain healthy interpersonal relations (e.g., functional trust, positive feedback, and constructive criticism).
REQUIRED EDUCATION:
High school diploma or equivalent (e.g., General Educational Development (GED) credential)
Required Experience: One (1) year of relevant, job-related work experience in an office or administrative setting
Preferred Experience:
- One (1) year of computerized appointment scheduling experience.
- Working knowledge of the health care environment.
- Working knowledge of patient processing with computerized scheduling software.
- Knowledge of outpatient surgery forms, policies, and procedures.
- Knowledge of medical terminology.
- Good oral and written communication and language skills.
- Above average ability to manage multiple simultaneous tasks and phone calls while maintaining a professional, courteous demeanor.
- Above average ability to problem solve.
- Ability to use standard office equipment.
- Ability to type forty (40) correct words per minute (cwpm).
- Ability to manage patient confrontations positively.
- Ability to manage emergencies.
