Description Located inside the Canopy DC Embassy Row by Hilton Hotel, we are currently seeking a Part Time Line Cook, specifically on weekends, to plan, prepare, and cook food in accordance with established procedures, sanitary regulations, and recipe standards. This position may also assist in setting up tray line, distributing food to various areas; disassembling serving line; and maintaining the cleanliness of work areas and all articles used. Brick oven cooking experience preferably (e.g. pizza, flat bread, whole meats, poultry and fish). RELATIONSHIPS, INTEGRITY, LEGACY, ENTREPRENEURIAL SPIRIT, HOSPITALITY Requirements Prepare ingredients for cooking, including portioning, chopping, and storing food. Wash and peel fresh fruits and vegetables. Weigh, measure, and mix ingredients. Prepare and cook food according to recipes, quality standards, presentation standards, and food preparation checklist. Prepare cold foods. Operate ovens, stoves, grills, microwaves, and fryers. Test foods to determine if they have been cooked sufficiently. Monitor food quality while preparing food. Set-up and break down workstation. Serve food in proper portions onto proper receptacles. Wash and disinfect kitchen area, tables, tools, knives, dish pit, line and equipment. Check and ensure the correctness of the temperature of appliances and food. Must be able to work on weekends
Responsibilities
The line cook will plan, prepare, and cook food according to established procedures and standards. Additional responsibilities include maintaining cleanliness in the kitchen and assisting with food distribution.
