The Role Biolog is seeking a PM Services Lab Technician to support the technical and logistical aspects of sample processing and laboratory housekeeping for customer samples received for our Phenotype Microarray (PM) contracted services. Reporting to the Laboratory Manager, this role plays a key part in ensuring customer samples are handled efficiently, processed correctly, and maintained under appropriate regulatory and quality system standards. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, highly organized, and comfortable working in a dynamic lab environment while supporting multiple projects and maintaining open communication with internal teams and customers. Requirements Where You Make a Difference Sample Processing & Laboratory Support Prepare laboratory supplies including manufacturing reagents and media Clean tools and equipment and ensure proper stocking of lab and warehouse consumables Document receipt of goods and notify management of supply needs and inventory status Perform standard microbiology procedures including handling, growth, and purification of cultures Operate associated laboratory equipment such as Odin instruments, plate readers, and anaerobic chambers Follow all laboratory safety requirements, including proper disposal of chemical and biohazardous waste Maintain clear communication with laboratory staff and management to keep projects on schedule and troubleshoot issues Housekeeping, Maintenance & Documentation Perform daily housekeeping and routine weekly, monthly, and annual cleaning activities Restock lab supplies as needed Assist with equipment maintenance and calibration File paperwork and support office administrative duties as assigned Quality and Regulatory Compliance Follow Quality System Procedures related to sample processing Maintain compliance with applicable cGMP, ISO 17025, USDA permit requirements, and other regulatory standards Customer Support Communicate with customers regarding sample receiving and processing updates Escalate customer inquiries outside of scope to laboratory management Represent Biolog policies and ethics professionally in all customer interactions What You Bring Associate degree in life science with 0–3 years of relevant industry or lab experience Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills Ability to multitask, prioritize workload, and work effectively with frequent interruptions Strong problem-solving ability and time management skills Comfortable working independently and collaboratively within a team environment Effective communication skills for working with both internal teams and customers Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.) Familiarity with regulatory requirements such as cGMP/GLP/GDP is a plus Bachelor’s degree in life science with 0–1 years of experience is desirable What We Offer Competitive compensation (base + commission) Comprehensive medical coverage with 100% employer-paid premiums for employees and 75% for dependents, plus dental and vision included Company-paid life, short-term, and long-term disability insurance Flexible paid time off and paid sick leave 13 paid holidays 401(k) Stock options Annual Salary: $35.00-$37.00/hour Additional Information: The role is on-site at our Hayward, CA location.
