Responsibilities

ABOUT THE ROLE

  • Position: PM Shift Supervisor
  • Schedule: Full-Time, PM Shift-1Pm start time
  • Location: Altona, VIC
    We are looking for a proactive PM Shift Supervisor to lead our evening operations. In this vital role, you will be in charge of directing, coordinating, supervising, and achieving service objectives set out for the Altona site. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the afternoon shift operations team to ensure outstanding results are achieved whilst driving a strong commitment to culture, safety, and continuous improvement.

YOU WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR:

  • Driving a strong safety culture on-site every day.
  • Manage the PM Shift Operations, from start to finish.
  • Provide direction and instructions to staff, drivers and sub-contractors onsite.
  • Distribute workloads and assign tasks to ensure unloading and loading efficiencies is achieved.
  • Maintain scheduled line haul departure times.
  • Working closely with the Site Operations Manager to monitor costs by limiting agency labour and overtime requirements.
  • Maintain load margins by ensuring trailers are loaded to capacity, both weight & cubic in line with set KPIs.
  • Ensuring all express & timeslot freight travels daily.
  • Monitoring systems and technology to ensure all established processes are followed (FLID, scanning, pre alerts, Reporting, TS etc).
  • Identify and isolate damages to freight and equipment and have them reported in a timely manner.
  • Training, coaching and mentoring the team to ensure operational excellence.
  • Investigating and resolving any operational issues.
  • Conducting weekly Tool Box Talks
  • Leading a daily operational meeting, including handover and end of shift reporting.
  • Maintaining efficiency in all operational activities.
  • Work closely with all stakeholders to meet all business objectives.

TO BE CONSIDERED FOR THE ROLE, YOU MUST BE ABLE TO DEMONSTRATE THE FOLLOWING:

  • Experience with the General Express road freight Industry.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
  • Strong knowledge of WH&S, Dangerous Goods, CoR obligations and Driver Fatigue Management.
  • Knowledge of safety and compliance standards.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills, attention to detail, good problem-solving abilities and time management skills.
  • Self-motivated and ability to drive required daily service levels.
