Description The Preventive Maintenance (PM) Technician is responsible for ensuring equipment reliability, safety, and uptime through systematic inspection, servicing, and proactive maintenance of all machinery and facility infrastructure. The PM Technician supports production by reducing unplanned downtime, improving asset life, and maintaining compliance with OEM standards and plant quality/safety requirements Requirements Key Responsibilities: Preventive Maintenance Execution - Perform PM tasks according to the weekly, monthly, and annual PM schedule. - Follow OEM manuals, MGR (Maintenance General Requirements), and plant-specific standard work. - Complete lubrication, inspection, cleaning, adjustments, and component replacements as assigned. - Ensure PM tasks are completed on time, with 100% adherence to schedule. Equipment Inspection & Condition Monitoring - Inspect mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical, and lubrication systems for wear, leaks, abnormal noise, or deterioration. - Perform condition-based checks such as oil sampling, vibration checks, temperature checks, and pressure/flow verification. - Identify potential failures before breakdowns occur. Documentation & CMMS Compliance - Accurately log all PM tasks, findings, and corrective actions in the CMMS. - Record spare parts used, work hours, and follow-up work orders. - Ensure PM completion notes are thorough and actionable. Corrective Actions & Repairs - Escalate abnormalities to the Maintenance Supervisor or Planner. - Generate corrective work orders for issues found during PMs. - Assist in planned repairs, component replacements, and improvement activities. - Ensure equipment is returned to production-ready condition after PM. Safety & Compliance - Follow all plant safety rules, LOTOTO, PPE requirements, and safe work practices. - Verify safety devices (e-stops, guards, interlocks) during PM tasks. - Ensure PM actions maintain compliance with OSHA, ISO 45001, ISO 14001, and customer audit requirements. Housekeeping & 5S - Maintain clean work areas around PM tasks. - Support 5S in maintenance shop, lubrication room, and spare parts areas. - Ensure tools are accounted for and returned to designated places. Communication & Collaboration - Report unusual findings immediately to the Maintenance Lead. - Work with Production to schedule PM windows with minimal disruption. - Participate in daily shift handoff meetings. - Provide feedback to improve PM checklists and frequencies. Qualifications - Technical diploma or equivalent experience in mechanical, electrical, or industrial maintenance. - Ability to read mechanical drawings, electrical schematics, and PM task sheets. - Knowledge of hydraulic systems, compressors, cooling systems, furnaces, conveyors, and forging equipment (preferred). - Basic computer skills for CMMS entry. - Strong attention to detail and reliability. Performance Metrics - PM schedule adherence (Target: 95–100%) - Reduction in breakdown hours - Quality of PM notes - Number of repeat failures tied to PM quality - Safety compliance and zero-incident performance
