Employer: Ally Psychiatry Location: Vestavia, Alabama Type: Full-Time, Outpatient (M-F) Call: Weekend call (light, ~1 weekend/month) About the Role Ally Psychiatry is seeking a compassionate and skilled Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) to join our outpatient clinic in Vestavia, AL. You will provide high-quality, patient-centered psychiatric care in a collaborative, supportive team environment. Our practice focuses on comprehensive outpatient mental health treatment — with opportunities for professional growth and excellent work-life balance. Responsibilities Conduct psychiatric evaluations, medication management, and follow-up care Provide evidence-based, patient-centered treatment in outpatient settings Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team including psychiatrists, therapists, and clinical staff Participate in weekend call obligation approximately one weekend per month Maintain accurate medical records and uphold clinical best practices Experienced PMHNP with DEA preffered. Requirements POSITION QUALIFICATIONS Must possess a minimum of a Master of Science in Nursing. Those six years are composed of a 4-year undergraduate nursing program followed by a 2-year nurse practitioner master's program that includes psychiatric nursing. Must have or pursuing a Mental Health Nurse Practitioner Certification from the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC). Prior experience in providing mental health counseling services within a clinical setting Must possess a State License to practice Nursing and it must be in good standing. Must possess the knowledge base in health promotion maintenance, advanced pathophysiology, advanced health assessment and pharmacology for advanced practice nurses. Must possess the following concepts: individual and family psychotherapy, psychiatric-mental health nursing across the lifespan, advanced assessment in psychiatric-mental health nursing and psychopharmacology.
Responsibilities
The Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner will conduct psychiatric evaluations, manage medications, and provide follow-up care, delivering evidence-based, patient-centered treatment within an outpatient setting. Responsibilities also include collaborating with the interdisciplinary team and participating in light weekend call rotation.
