Energetic and Compassionate SEN Support Assistant – Primary Setting
Axcis are working with a large SEND school in Dawlish who are recruiting for an active, resilient, and compassionate teaching assistant to work in their primary site supporting pupils aged 6 – 10. As a teaching assistant at this school, you must be active, lively, and able to match the energy of the pupils. The ideal candidate must have experience with SEND, particularly ASD, MLD, communication needs and behaviour management. Many children are non or pre-verbal and use behaviour as a form of communication.
As a teaching assistant you will work in a classroom with 6 – 10 pupils alongside the main teacher and other TA’s. You will assist the teacher’s lesson, support the pupil’s education as well as their social and emotional needs. In primary you will be getting stuck in with messy play, sensory activities and providing nurturing spaces whilst assisting phonics, numeracy, and physical independence.
The school is very impressive with 3 forest schools, a sensory room in every classroom, a swimming pool, gym, woodwork room, kitchen and gardens with chickens to accommodate the complex needs of the students and provide a vibrant, playful and independent education.
This job role is to start in September working Monday to Friday from 8:30 – 3:30. Parking is provided, and public transport links are also accessible. You are paid £95 per day which comes to £13.69 per hour. This is a term time only job role. Apply now!
