Description The Pod Security Engineer I is an entry-level engineering role within a collaborative Pod structure. This individual supports client systems under the guidance of managers, Pod Captains, and/or senior engineers, resolving escalated issues, participating in project implementation, and contributing to proactive service improvements. This role also includes assisting in the deployment, monitoring, and maintenance of IT security platforms and practices to ensure client environments remain secure and compliant. Duties and Responsibilities: Respond to and resolve desktop, server, and network support requests escalated from Pod Technicians. Handle service tickets initiated via phone, email, portal, or technician escalation, ensuring accurate documentation and timely resolution. Assist with implementation of technical projects, under guidance from project managers, coordinators and project engineers. Assist in deployment and administration of IT security platforms including Anti-Virus, Anti-Malware, EDR, DNS Filtering, SIEM Monitoring, DLP, Patch Management, and Encryption. Perform security and vulnerability assessments for client environments. Respond to and remediate security alerts generated from monitoring systems in a timely manner. Provide support and incident response for escalated security incidents and vulnerabilities. Recommend and support security awareness training for clients. Maintain awareness of industry regulations such as HIPAA, GLBA, PCI, ensuring security solutions meet or exceed compliance requirements. Provide input on security policies, standards, and procedures. Participate in client system administration, documentation, and basic configuration. Communicate with clients and internal team members regarding status updates and resolutions. Maintain ticket updates and service documentation in accordance with standards. Collaborate with leadership and engineering teams to escalate systemic issues or project needs. Stay current on relevant technical skills through certification and internal training. Requirements Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or related field (or equivalent experience). Degree in Cybersecurity preferred. Technical support or systems administration experience a plus. Certifications such as A+, Network+, Security+, CEH, Microsoft MCP/MCSE, Cisco CCNA, or VMware VCP are preferred. Knowledge of Server OS, Active Directory, virtualization, networking, Microsoft 365, cloud services, and security practices. Effective communication and teamwork abilities. Ability to manage priorities and execute technical tasks independently with minimal guidance. Strong problem-solving aptitude and attention to detail. Strong organizational skills and ability to set priorities. Strong customer service skills and ability to de-escalate situations should they arise. Excellent documentation skills. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to coach and guide junior technical staff. Client-oriented with a focus on service excellence.
