Description
The Town of Butner is seeking a Public Safety Officer to perform specialized law enforcement and fire service work in accordance with established police/fire methods and departmental practices and procedures. This is a unique opportunity to provide dual police and fire services in a small community located just outside Raleigh/Durham, NC. Applicants must be a US citizen, at least 20 years of age, and have a high school education or equivalent. Preference given to candidates that have successfully completed the NC Basic Law Enforcement Training or are currently certified as a Law Enforcement Officer in North Carolina, and/or are certified as a Level II Firefighter in accordance with the NC State Fire Marshal’s Office. Selected applicants will be required to complete pre-employment requirements including: background investigation, physical examination, and drug-screening. Position requires working 12-hour rotating shifts. The town offers excellent benefits, such as 100% employer-paid medical, dental, vision, and short-term disability insurance; pension and 401k contributions; longevity pay; holiday pay; vacation and sick leave, etc. The hiring salary range is $46,886 to $59,841 depending on certifications and experience.
