Are you looking for an opportunity to advance your career while working with an extraordinary team? At Merakey, we put heart and soul into everything we do. We are seeking a Physician to join our team at our Police Assisted Diversion (PAD) program in Philadelphia, PA.

OUR IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL POSSESS THE FOLLOWING SKILLS:

  • Three years’ experience in the provision of services to persons who are addicted to drugs and/or alcohol
  • Wound care experience is preferred but not required
  • Knowledge of the service delivery system in Philadelphia is preferred
  • Experience with triaging ER patients and/or experience in the prison system is preferred.
Responsibilities
  • Prescribe appropriate pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic treatment modalities
  • Performing a medical history and physical exam
  • Determining diagnosis and appropriately treating narcotic dependence
  • Reviewing treatment plans
  • Make recommendations regarding level of care received and coordinate care with staff on site
  • Discussing cases with treatment team/stakeholders.
  • Issuing verbal orders and medication orders pertaining to client care.
  • Assessing coexisting medical and psychiatric disorders and making appropriate referrals for treatment of these disorders.
  • Review patient eligibility for services.
  • Review the patient’s clinical information before the recertification period for each patient which includes a face-to-face visit by the medical director
  • Work with other PAD-related agencies making medical recommendations on care that individuals receive.
  • Coordinate care with both internal and external care providers and provide medical recommendations to partner agencies as appropriate
