We are excited to bring you the opportunity to join our highly regarded regional surveillance team. Applications are open to all police officers who hold a current Q1 qualification.
As part of your daily role, successful candidates will undertake covert foot and mobile surveillance on suspects of Terrorism offences, in order to obtain intelligence and evidence in support of ongoing investigations. This will be conducted as authorised under the Regulation of Investigatory Powers Act (RIPA) 2000 and Human Rights legislation. You will also debrief covert surveillance operations on a daily basis, ensuring evidential logs are accurate.

The successful candidate will demonstrate an ability to;

  • Show flexibility in an unpredictable working environment
  • Work well within a team and be an effective team member
  • Be self-motivated and proactive

As a national, regional and local resource, you will be required to travel for business purposes. This is an exciting and rewarding role and as such can include travel across the UK (not limited to the South East) and you may occasionally be required to work away from home. You will be asked to demonstrate flexibility regarding working hours in line with operational demand. Therefore, the successful candidate will require a full UK driving licence.
Due to the nature of our work, security is of paramount importance to us and therefore it will be necessary for the successful candidate to obtain and maintain vetting level SC together with a number of enhanced security checks. In order to achieve this, you must be a British National and have resided in the UK for the past five years. Exemptions may apply for overseas or other diplomatic service (with HM Government), and studying abroad.
You can find more information about security vetting here.
