Job Details Level: Experienced Job Location: New Carrollton, MD 20784 Salary Range: $28.84 - $34.28 Hourly Job Shift: Any GENERAL DESCRIPTION The City of New Carrollton Police Department is seeking dedicated, community-focused individuals to join our team as Police Officers. We are currently accepting applications for entry-level candidates enrolled in a certified police academy, recently graduated, as well as experienced/lateral officers who are already certified and have previous law enforcement experience. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES Enforce local, state, and federal laws and ordinances. Respond to calls for service, emergencies, and incidents. Conduct investigations, interviews, and prepare detailed reports. Engage with community members to promote trust and safety. Patrol assigned areas by vehicle or on foot to deter and detect criminal activity. Participate in ongoing training and professional development. Testifies in motions hearings, court and other proceedings regarding arrests, reports taken, evidence recovered, and victims and others statements. Secures crime locations and detains witnesses to ensure evidence is not destroyed or contaminated.
