Description

The Village of Roselle, Illinois (22,897) seeks a full-time Police Records Assistant in the Police Department. This position involves responsible and specialized clerical work at the Roselle Police Department’s service desk, as well as the ongoing maintenance of police records and the LEADS/NCIC computer system.

What You’ll Do:

  • Records and Documentation: Performs a variety of tasks related to the maintenance and preparation of court or adjudication records, hearings, documents, and prisoner checks. Compiles information for monthly NIBRS reports to the FBI, accident data summaries for the Illinois Department of Transportation, and reports on police activities for the Chief.
  • Customer Service and Public interaction: Serves as a customer service representative and answers citizen inquiries. Receives routine public inquiries such as requests for copies of accident reports and other miscellaneous calls.
  • Administrative and Support Functions: Performs administrative tow processing for vehicle releases. Enters traffic and parking tickets into the data system. Prepares listings of individuals arrested for prisoner lock-up files and completes prisoner lock-up reports for adults and juveniles.

What We’re Looking For:

Our ideal candidate has:

  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
  • One-year clerical experience.
  • Knowledge in word processing and data entry.
  • Ability to obtain State LEADS Operator Certification and NCIC Operator Certification within (12) months. (Training will be provided at no cost to the candidate through the Village’s training program).

The salary range for this position is $48,743 to $74,439. The starting salary will be based on the candidate’s experience and qualifications.
