We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Police Upfit Technician to install, integrate, and maintain emergency equipment in law enforcement vehicles. This role is responsible for transforming standard vehicles into fully operational public safety units by installing lighting, sirens, radios, partitions, computer systems, and other specialized equipment. The ideal candidate has strong electrical troubleshooting skills, mechanical aptitude, and experience working with 12V automotive systems. Nothing in this position Requirements High school diploma or equivalent 2+ years of experience in automotive electrical or emergency vehicle upfitting Strong understanding of 12V electrical systems Experience using multimeters, crimping tools, soldering equipment Ability to read wiring diagrams and technical schematics Valid driver’s license with clean driving record Willing to submit to a background check and drug screen prior to employment Ability to operate electronic diagnostic equipment Preferred: Experience upfitting law enforcement or emergency response vehicles Knowledge of CAN bus systems MECP certification (or similar) Experience installing radio systems for public safety agencies Skills & Competencies Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills Attention to detail and craftsmanship Ability to work independently and as part of a team Time management skills with the ability to meet production deadlines Commitment to safety and confidentiality Physical Requirements Ability to lift up to 75 lbs Ability to work inside vehicles for extended periods Frequent bending, kneeling, and overhead work Comfortable working with power tools and electrical systems.
