JOB SUMMARY

We are hiring for several roles in the Public Sector Reform team. This growing team is responsible for the government’s overarching strategy to reform public services, including: designing and delivering a new £100m programme of community help partnerships; leading government-wide digital reform and transformation; and working in partnership with the impact economy. Exact role responsibilities will depend on business needs and the specific strengths of successful candidates.
This team sits within the wider Public Sector Reform and Efficiency Director General group, which is also responsible for the Test, Learn and Grown innovation programme, Civil Service Reform, and the government’s vision for a Productive and Agile State.
The roles will involve building strong, productive relationships within the DG group, with political colleagues, with teams in other departments and local government who are delivering services and leading reforms, and with a wide range of external stakeholders.
Successful candidates will therefore require: strong interpersonal skills, including the confidence to invite challenge from experts and seniors; openness to innovative approaches from outside government; the ability to make clear decisions drawing on very diverse evidence and perspectives; and the ability to clearly communicate these decisions and perspectives in written and verbal advice to seniors and political colleagues.
