POLICY ADVISOR, EU ENERGY TRANSITION, BRUSSELS

E3G is seeking a Policy Advisor to join its EU Energy Transition team to support E3G’s work on ensuring a fast, fair and funded clean energy transition in the EU. This role will focus on delivering a just and well-managed gas transition in the EU.

EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS

  • A high-quality degree and professional experience in a relevant discipline and field.
  • A strong understanding of EU legislative processes, generally, and key energy files, specifically.
  • A command of EU political trends and contemporary geopolitical dynamics.
  • Strong research, analytical and strategic-thinking skills, displaying intellectual curiosity and creativity.
  • Well-organised and focused with an attention to detail, able to be proactive and deliver high-quality outputs in a timely manner.
  • Excellent communication skills, able to convey information and arguments to others in a clear, accessible and convincing way.
  • Confident when engaging stakeholders in government, industry, finance and civil society.

Responsibilities

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide political economy analysis to assessing the impacts of shifting politics and policies on the on the EU’s clean energy transition.
  • Lead analysis of the EU’s gas transition, focusing on both geopolitics of energy at EU and member state level. Provide insights on the politics of accelerating a managed EU gas transition.
  • Strengthen E3G’s collective engagement with policymakers, private sector actors and civil society actors by developing a network of contacts working on gas policy and politics.
  • Prepare and contribute to communications products such as presentations, briefings and reports for internal and external use.
  • Support preparations for workshops, presentations and meetings with external partners.
  • Travel may be required.
