POLICY DEVELOPMENT AND COORDINATION SKILLS:
You have:
- Experience in supporting policy development and analysis to identify issues, develop options, mitigate risks, and provide recommendations.
- Understanding of municipal governments, key issues, and the relationship between different levels of government.
- Knowledge of the government’s decision-making process and accountability frameworks.
- Ability to review and analyze policy documents to inform decisions and advise senior staff.
RESEARCH, ANALYTICAL AND PROBLEM-SOLVING SKILLS:
You have:
- Ability to plan, design, and conduct policy research and analysis on various issues, synthesize complex information, and summarize findings.
- Proficiency in identifying, gathering, and evaluating data, addressing knowledge gaps, conducting qualitative and quantitative analyses, and presenting findings.
- Capability to identify and monitor trends, issues, and new developments from various resources, including media outlets and stakeholder reports.
- Demonstrated analytical, negotiation, and problem-solving skills to develop and provide policy options, advice, and solutions.
COMMUNICATION, CONSULTATION AND INTERPERSONAL SKILLS:
You can:
- Effectively present and communicate complex information to internal and external audiences.
- Respond to requests, write reports, and prepare various correspondence and briefing materials.
- Handle and maintain confidential sensitive information with political acuity and sound judgment.
- Support consultations to collaborate, exchange, and seek information from stakeholders.
- Build consensus and gain buy-in with strong negotiation skills.
- Build and maintain strong working relationships with stakeholders.
- Use computer software, such as word processing, spreadsheet, database, and presentation software applications to produce high-quality work in various formats.
PROJECT MANAGEMENT, AND ORGANIZATIONAL SKILLS:

- Experience with of project management principles and techniques.
- Self-motivation and organizational skills to manage competing deadlines.
