Position Summary ANSER is seeking a Policy Analyst to support the Office of the Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense for Counternarcotics and Global Threats (ODASD (CN&SP)). The ODASD (CN&SP) advances the Department of Defense’s (DoD) mission to counter drug trafficking, transnational organized crime, and threat finance networks. In this key role you will develop and assess policies related to counterdrug, counter-transnational organized crime, and counter-threat finance missions. You will provide strategic analysis of the global security environment and advise senior leaders on policy implications affecting DoD programs and partnerships and play a key role in shaping policies that align with U.S. national security objectives. Day-to-Day Responsibilities Analyze international political-military developments and policy impacts Assess implications of U.S. and international agreements on DoD programs Develop policy recommendations for CD/CTOC/CTF initiatives Support interagency and international coordination efforts Evaluate national security policy issues and stakeholder impacts Draft policy documents, reports, and strategic assessments Provide decision-support analysis for program investments Coordinate with Combatant Commands and Defense Agencies Support development of security cooperation strategies Prepare executive-level briefings and decision materials Conduct research on emerging global threats and trends Analyze program alignment with national drug control strategies Participate in working groups and policy forums Advise leadership on policy risks and opportunities Support real-time decision-making in dynamic environments Required Qualifications Active Top Secret (SCI) Clearance Master’s degree preferably international relations, public policy, national security, or related field Minimum of 10 years of experience in defense policy or national security analysis Strong understanding of international relations and security cooperation Experience supporting DoD or interagency policy development Familiarity with CD/CTOC/CTF mission areas and strategies Experience coordinating across multiple stakeholders and agencies Experience briefing senior leadership or government and military officials Familiarity with DoD organizational structure and processes Preferred Qualifications: Ability to analyze complex geopolitical environments In compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), if you have a disability and would like to request an accommodation in order to apply for a position with ANSER, please call 703-416-2000 or e-mail Recruiting@anser.org ANSER is proud to be an Equal Opportunity Employer.
