Leidos is seeking a high performing candidate to fill a position supporting the nation’s nuclear deterrence mission with the National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA) Office of Defense Programs as a Policy Analyst and Logistician to support a major Life Extension Program (LEP) within the Office of Defense Programs. This is a critical senior role responsible for creation and maintenance of NNSA planning and accountability documents and processes, as well as logistics and provisioning, for a long term, multi-billion-dollar program. This senior-level individual will be located at the National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA) Complex in Albuquerque, NM and full-time work onsite is required. The individual is expected to convey a high degree of professionalism, be independent and proactive in conduct of assigned duties, demonstrate diplomacy and tact in their engagements, and be proficient in written and verbal communication skills. The position requires critical thinking, experience exercising mature judgment, and making independent decisions in accordance with established policies, rules, and procedures.

REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & CLEARANCE:

  • Active DOE Q clearance or active DOD Top Secret clearance
  • Bachelor’s degree in technical or business field and 12+ years of related experience or a Master’s degree with 10+ years of prior relevant experience
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience working in classified environments
  • Experience with project management, cost management and scheduling tools and techniques
  • Project controls/program management experience with NNSA headquarters, NNSA contractor sites (e.g., SNL, LANL or LLNL), or the Department of Defense (e.g., Air Force, Navy, Army, DTRA)
  • Experience with provisioning, logistics support, and/or production planning and scheduling
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with demonstrated experience developing briefings for senior management
  • Proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite (MS Word, MS PowerPoint, Outlook, and MS Excel) with particular emphasis on writing, presentation, and spreadsheet applications

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience with coordination of, or execution to, NNSA planning and accountability documents and/or systems (e.g., Program Control Documents (PCD), Logistics Accountability Production Scheduling (LAPS), Integrated Production Scheduling System (IPSS), Pilot Production Program Definition (PPPD))
  • Program Management Professional (PMP) certification
At Leidos, we don’t want someone who “fits the mold"—we want someone who melts it down and builds something better. This is a role for the restless, the over-caffeinated, the ones who ask, “what’s next?” before the dust settles on “what’s now.”
If you’re already scheming step 20 while everyone else is still debating step 2… good. You’ll fit right in.
Responsibilities
  • Publication and maintenance of the program’s Program Control Document (PCD).
  • Management of the program’s Pilot Production Program Definition (PPPD) document
  • Management of the program’s Retirement Disposition Instructions (RDI) document
  • Oversight/coordination of the program’s provisioning planning in the Logistics Accountability Production Scheduling (LAPS) system.
  • Coordination of program review, comments, and responses to new releases of the Requirements Planning Document (RPD) and Production and Planning Document (P&PD).
  • Facilitation of review and approval of hardware diversion requests.
  • Situational application of knowledge of nuclear weapons systems, NNSA/NSE Phase 6.X activities and deliverables, and program management disciplines.
  • Detail oriented, professional demeanor with strong organizational and proven interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated attention to detail in a multi-project work environment, with potential frequent interruptions, with competing needs requiring clear understanding of prioritization.
  • Ability to exercise mature judgment and make independent decisions in accordance with established policies, rules and procedures.
  • Ability to work in a team environment and interact with a range of federal and contractor staff, DOE/NNSA Labs, Plants and Sites (LPS) contractors, and the Department of Defense communicating effectively, verbally, and in writing.
  • Working with Federal and contractor staff to track and monitor deliverables and actions.
  • Coordinate, collaborate and facilitate remote and in-person meetings with geographically distant LPS representatives in the performance of program support duties.
