EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Post-secondary degree in Public Policy, Political Science, Communications, Social Work, or a related field.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in public policy, advocacy, government relations, or strategic communications; OR
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job.

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Exceptional research and writing skills with a demonstrated ability to synthesize complex information into clear, compelling messages.
  • Excellent interpersonal, collaboration, and relationship-building skills, with the ability to engage effectively and foster strong working relationships with internal teams, member agencies, partners, stakeholders, and counterparts in other jurisdictions. Experience with stakeholder engagement, policy analysis, and/or content development.
  • Knowledge of Ontario’s public policy environment, Ontario child welfare legislation, policies, standards, programs, tools and processes.
  • Creative thinker who understands the power of narrative in shaping public perception and driving change.
  • Self-starter with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Purpose-driven and deeply committed to equity, reconciliation, and social justice.
  • Demonstrates emotional intelligence, self-awareness, and adaptability in response to changing team dynamics and evolving sector priorities.
  • Proficiency in full suite of Microsoft Office products.
