Mō te tūranga | About the Role As the Policy and Process Manager within our Procurement Operations team, you’ll play a pivotal role in shaping and maintaining the frameworks that support our procurement lifecycle. Reporting to the Senior Manager Procurement Operations, you’ll be responsible for ensuring our processes, policies, and procedures align with Westpac’s risk control framework and regulatory obligations. In this role, you will: Lead the development and continuous improvement of procurement policies and processes. Collaborate with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders to identify new requirements and refine existing practices. Drive process changes and updates on behalf of the Procurement team. Review and enhance current operations to improve efficiency and effectiveness. Champion the adoption of new processes through education, training, and ongoing support. You’re a seasoned procurement professional with a strong foundation in sourcing, operations, or governance, and a deep understanding of procurement methodologies. You’ll bring: 5+ years’ experience in procurement, with a focus on risk management and regulatory compliance. 3+ years’ experience in process design, documentation, and mapping, supported by excellent writing and editing skills. Proven ability to build strong relationships and influence stakeholders at all levels, both internally and externally. Experience managing competing priorities and coordinating complex projects or programs of work. Working knowledge of project fundamentals, ideally with hands-on experience in managing complex initiatives. A solid grasp of governance, regulatory, and risk requirements within a procurement context. Experience in the financial services industry, particularly within a procurement function.
