THIS IS A FIXED TERM APPOINTMENT UNTIL 31 DECEMBER 2026, WITH A POSSIBILITY OF EXTENSION SUBJECT TO FURTHER FUNDING
The Just Transition Finance Lab at the Grantham Research Institute (GRI) on Climate Change and the Environment is a centre for experimentation and excellence in the financial solutions needed for a just transition to a net zero and nature positive economy. The Lab seeks to appoint up to two policy fellows to contribute to its research and engagement programmes focused on enabling the just transition through finance.
The primary responsibilities of this role are to deliver high quality research to strengthen the Lab’s knowledge foundations in just transition finance and identify how the Lab’s activities can contribute to the transformation of the financial system to support a just transition. The role will support the development of solutions for financing a just transition through rigorous research and policy-oriented analyses. The role also includes stakeholder engagement, managing networks and participating in strategic initiatives within the Lab and broader institutional frameworks.
Candidates should have a postgraduate degree in a finance, economics, climate science, climate policymaking, climate economics or a closely related field. The candidate(s) will also have good financial sector experience in public institutions, or in private investment, regulatory, think-tank or research-based roles. The candidate(s) will have a proven track record of authoring and leading high-quality research and outputs (e.g. reports, briefings, events) that achieve impact and influence, and demonstrable experience of delivering impact and influence with financial sector actors through evidence-based approaches. The candidate(s) should also have good project management skills, including supervising staff and integrating and managing the contribution of senior colleagues and external partners.
