ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: University degree from a recognized institution, or equivalent combination of education, relevant experience and job knowledge
Language Requirements: English essential
EXPERIENCE :
- Writing reports, speeches and/or briefing materials for senior management (within government the Director General, ADM DM level and/or Ministerial level)
- Collaborating and coordinating with multi-disciplinary teams and experts
- Collaborating and engaging with external organizations and/or other government departments
- Policy analysis and/or development
KNOWLEDGE OF:
- CNSC mandate, priorities and position within the Government of Canada.
- Government of Canada planning and reporting cycle
ASSET QUALIFICATIONS:
- Post graduate education relevant to the role
- Experience writing and/or working on Government of Canada policy initiatives and in preparing policy briefs for Senior management
- Experience with Federal and provincial parliamentary structures and mechanisms, as well as a general understanding of Government of Canada policies and directives
- Experience in the identification, monitoring and analysis of strategic trends, including, for example economic and social trends
- Experience in drafting Cabinet proposals and/or Treasury Board Submissions
- Experience in the development of MOUs with other government departments or regulatory counterparts
- Knowledge of the current domestic and international nuclear regulatory environment
