Responsibilities

Budget Strategy Unit
A fixed-term position is available until 30/6/2026 in the Budget Strategy Unit.
The Budget Strategy Unit leads the state budget strategy for school infrastructure and brings in funding in to the VSBA for school infrastructure projects.
The role of the Policy Advisor within Budget Strategy Unit is to support the development of school infrastructure business cases that recommend funding based on a clear problem definition, strong delivery evidence base and well researched recommendations.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading the development of a business case
  • Liaising with other parts of the organisation to gather data to inform the business case
  • Promoting and maintaining strong relationships with key stakeholders within the Authority, across the Department and also across Government
  • Undertaking policy analysis to provide options and recommendations to management
  • Undertaking secretariat duties as required.
