About the role The Policy Officer sits within the Assessment Division which is responsible for overseeing the development, implementation, and quality assurance of school-based assessment and external examination processes for the Higher School Certificate (HSC) and Records of School Achievement (RoSA). Reporting to the Manager, Policy, the Policy Officer coordinates and undertakes policy development, providing analysis and advice, to support the delivery of policy initiatives. It works closely with a range of expert staff involved with developing, delivering and marking the HSC, and research, school liaison and NAPLAN leaders, to ensure policy is evidence-based, practical and aligned to organisational objectives. On a day-to-day basis you will be responsible to: Undertake research and analysis, reviewing alternatives in relation to policy deliverables Provide a range of project management and support services Prepare and review policy advice to ensure alignment with policy directions Communicate with key stakeholders and coordinate working groups, committee meetings, and stakeholder consultations Undertake research and collate information for reporting, monitoring and evaluation purposes To be successful you will need: · Relevant experience in policy development or a related field · Previous experience undertaking consultations and negotiations with stakeholders while balancing competing interests · Relevant tertiary qualification Note: A current NSW Working with Children Check (WWCC) clearance for paid employment is required before commencing in this role.
