MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 2 years of experience in a Policy, Legal, Regulatory environment, Content review, Trust and Safety, Technology industry, or related field.
  • Experience with data analysis, data tools (e.g., SQL), operations, or trend identification.
  • Experience with the history, local politics, current events, culture or context of Americas and Eurasia countries (Russia, Ukraine, etc).

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience in technology industry business areas, such as operations, data analysis, and internet/online media.
  • Experience using data to provide solutions and recommendations.
  • Experience working with spreadsheets to analyze data, interpreting large datasets (SQL), as well as working with data visualization tools (e.g., Dashboards).
  • Knowledge of the technology sector, its trends, and key policy issues affecting the internet (e.g., intellectual property, free expression, online safety).

Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking skills with attention to detail in a fluid environment.

  • Ability to communicate in Russian or Portuguese to translate legal requests and interpret flagged content.

Responsibilities
  • Be a thought leader for legal content removals issues by identifying and analyzing content moderation trends and key policy and regulatory issues affecting the Internet in the Americas and Eurasia regions.
  • Lead discussions with cross-functional stakeholders on emerging regulations and their implications on the legal removals landscape at Google.
  • Manage content operations and drive escalations of sensitive government requests by liaising with Product, Policy, Communications, and Legal teams. Balance various legal considerations in order to resolve issues.
  • Develop and launch scalable policies and guidelines for handling large volumes of requests, based on different regional trends and legal issues
  • Participate in the on-call rotation schedule to manage high-priority escalations that may occur outside of standard work hours, including weekends/holidays. This role will be exposed to graphic, controversial, or upsetting content.
