Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour Job description: Granite Polisher Polish material/parts to correct defects or to prepare surfaces for further finishing, using hand and power tools Apply pressure to polish, glaze, and buff while making sure the dimensions stay the same Verify the quality of finished workpieces by inspecting, comparing to templates, measuring dimensions, and marking any defects for possible rework Ensure proper use of equipment Teamwork; helping coworkers in other stations if needed Maintain a clean station Responsible for wearing all personal protective equipment (safety glasses, earplugs, waterproof gear, face mask, etc.) Ensure safety procedures are followed Other duties as assigned Experience Desired: Experience in fabricating Marble, Granite, and Quartz Experience in Construction, Industrial, and Manufacturing fields Experience in material polishing Experience operating a forklift Basic knowledge in math (adding and subtracting measurements) Basic knowledge of maintenance SKILLS Ability to lift and carry up to 40lbs Self-confidence Flexibility Initiative Safety oriented This job requires intermittent periods of continuous physical exertion, such as walking, standing, stooping, climbing, and lifting materials or equipment, some of which may be heavy or awkward. Responsibilities
The Polisher is responsible for polishing granite, marble, and quartz surfaces to correct defects and prepare them for finishing. This includes verifying quality against templates and maintaining a clean, safe workstation.
