At CENmat, we’re dedicated to pushing the boundaries of green hydrogen technology. As a dynamic SME, we develop electrolysis components and electrolysers—often within EU- funded consortium projects. Our innovative environment thrives on creativity, collaboration and curiosity, and we’re looking for a Polymer Scientist to help us design and translate next-generation polyelectrolyte materials into high-performance membranes.

As our new Polymer Scientist, you will:

• Conceive molecular structures tailored to electrochemical performance (e.g. ionic conductivity, chemical stability).
• Carry out lab-scale polymer synthesis (e.g. free-radical, controlled/living polymerizations) and post-polymer modifications.
• Develop formulation protocols (solvent selection, film‐casting parameters, annealing) to produce defect-free membranes.
• Optimize membrane thickness, mechanical properties and ionic pathways.
• Evaluate electrochemical behavior of our electrolyis cells and your membranes.
• Perform single-cell electrochemical measurements to assess area-specific resistance, durability and crossover.
• Coordinate closely with academic and industrial partners to meet project deliverables.
• Present results in internal project meetings and contribute to progressreports.
• Support writing research proposals.
• Identify bottlenecks in membrane fabrication and propose improvements.
• Maintain accurate lab notebooks, manage project timelines and requisition materials.
