Employment Type: Full time Shift: Night Shift Description: Position Highlights: State of the Art 14 bed Comprehensive Sleep Center with clinic and lab services all under one roof (American Academy of Sleep Medicine accredited)! Dynamic team of specially trained Technologist/Technicians! On average treat 1,242 patients yearly! Board certified Physician with Neurology, Pulmonary and Internal Medicine experience! Performing diagnostic and therapeutic sleep studies (CPAP, BPAP, BPAP S/T, AVAPS). . Responsibilities: Collects, analyzes and integrates patient information to identify and meet the patient. Follows procedural protocols [such as Multiple Sleep Latency Test (MSLT), Maintenance of Wakefulness Test (MWT), parasomnia studies, PAP and oxygen titration, etc.] to ensure collection of appropriate data. Follows “lights out” procedures to establish and document baseline values (such as body position, oxyhemoglobin saturation, respiratory and heart rates, etc.) Performs polysomnographic data acquisition while monitoring study-tracing quality to ensure signals are artifact-free. Identifies and reports signal abnormalities. Documents routine observations, including sleep stages and clinical events, changes in procedure, and other significant events in order to facilitate scoring and interpretation of polysomnographic results. Assists with appropriate interventions (including actions necessary for patient safety and therapeutic intervention such as continuous and bi-level positive airway pressure, oxygen administration, etc.). Follows “lights on” procedures to verify integrity of collected data and complete the data collection process (e.g. repeats the physiological and instrument calibrations and instructs the patient on completing questionnaires, etc.). Prepares and calibrates equipment required for testing to determine proper functioning and makes adjustments if necessary. Scores sleep/wake stages by applying professionally accepted guidelines. Scores clinical events (such as respiratory events, cardiac events, limb movements, arousals etc). Generates accurate reports by tabulating sleep/wake and clinical event data.
