Description JOB TITLE: Pool Attendant JOB SUMMARY: Maintain a safe, hygienic, pleasant environment in the swimming areas. Monitor all activity and conditions for safety hazards, unsafe behavior, and medical emergencies. Take any corrective action required, following established guidelines. Perform the daily required cleaning of pool areas and exercise room, water treatment, and record keeping procedures required. REPORTS TO: Activities Manager & Pool Supervisor PRIMARY DUTIES AND FUNCTIONS: 1. Watch swimmers and swimming area for safety hazards, unsafe behavior, and medical emergencies. Take any corrective action necessary; follow proper emergency practice if needed. 2. Complete all necessary paperwork, including swimming areas records, guest check-in, chemical orders, and cleaning log. 3. Clean all assigned areas: pool area, locker rooms and workout room. 4. Empty wastebaskets in all areas. 5. Transport towels to and from the laundry. 6. Start Washer and Dryer for towels as necessary. 7. Fold towels, and restock shelves in pool entrance, locker rooms, and fitness room. 8. Clean foyer glass doors, windows, glass doors to the outdoor pool entrance, and Sauna glass doors. 9. Clean pool deck. 10. Check and maintain water Levels. 11. Check water temperature. 12. Maintain cleanliness of the Sauna and replenish the water in the water bucket for the Sauna. 13. Prepare daily pool checklist for resident manager. 14. Maintain equipment in good condition. Observe and report any repair needed on equipment, furniture, fixtures, or building. 15. Issue towels to guests as needed. 16. Unlock lockers for guest as needed. 17. Maintain the exercise room equipment, towels, water fountain, TV, and trash. QUALIFICATIONS: Essential: Prior customer service experience. Able to lift 30 or more pounds. Able to work alone and as part of a team. Able to be stand and move around for long periods of time. Good organizational skills. Ability to communicate well with Home owners, guests and coworkers. Valid Driver’s License Flexible work schedule, including week days, nights, weekends and holiday week/ends Desirable: Prior guest relations training Hospitality experience CPR, First Aid, AED certified Knowledge about fitness and recreation activities/programs Prior pool care experience Able to work a flexible schedule, weekends, evenings, and holidays. ESSENTIAL SKILLS: Ability to communicate in English with homeowners/guests/employees. Ability to adhere to safety rules. Ability to work cohesively with co-workers as part of a team. Ability to focus on homeowners/guest needs, inquiries and provide appropriate responses Ability to prioritize, organize and make good judgments. Ability to perform assignments with minimal supervision. Ability to ensure security of resort property. Ability to maintain confidentiality of homeowner/guest information and pertinent resort data. PERSONALITY REQUIREMENTS: Must be observant and attentive. Ability to work with co-workers; communicate with guests and customers, have patience with children, ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Must be friendly and cheerful with a positive attitude. Must be capable of working productively without close supervision. PHYSICAL DEMANDS: While performing the duties of the job, the employee is required to reach with arms and hands; bend and stoop; remain at post standing for extended periods of time; may be required to lift and/or move up to 30 pounds. WORKING ENVIRONMENT: Schedule includes weekends and holidays, shift work. Some night work and extended hours may be required. Work takes place in any of the following swimming areas: indoor pool complex and outdoor pool. HAZARDS ENCOUNTERED: 1. Pool chemicals and some cleaning agents and blood borne pathogens are hazardous if improperly handled or if contact with eyes, skin, or clothing occurs. 2.
