Job Summary The Pool Bar & Café Manager is responsible for the overall leadership, daily operations, guest experience, and financial performance of the BOTTAIA Pool Bar & Café. This position is accountable for maintaining exceptional service standards, operational excellence, associate performance, regulatory compliance, and the protection of Company assets. The Pool Bar & Café Manager is expected to exercise sound judgment, make independent decisions, and maintain a calm, professional presence during high-volume operations, guest concerns, emergencies, and other challenging situations. This role is responsible for ensuring Company policies, pricing, labor practices, safety standards, and operating procedures are consistently followed. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Standards, Leadership and Compliance * Understand and consistently uphold BOTTAIA Values, Service Standards, and Company policies. * Serve as the Manager and maintain overall responsibility for the operation during assigned shifts. * Exercise sound judgment and independent decision-making consistent with Company policies and operational objectives. * Maintain operational discipline by ensuring all pricing, discounts, promotions, complimentary items, reservation accommodations, and operational decisions comply with established Company policies and receive appropriate approvals. * Ensure compliance with all federal, state, county, and local regulations related to alcohol service, labor law, workplace safety, food handling, sanitation, and guest safety. * Protect Company assets through proper cash handling, inventory controls, labor management, and adherence to operating procedures. * Maintain a visible leadership presence throughout the operation and provide direction, coaching, and support to associates * Remain calm, professional, and solution-oriented during emergencies, difficult guest interactions, operational disruptions, and high-volume business periods. Guest Relations * Take ownership of guest satisfaction and lead all service recovery efforts. * Professionally and confidently handle guest complaints, difficult conversations, intoxicated guests, and unusual situations while protecting the interests of guests, associates, and the Company. * Respond to guest requests, concerns, accidents, complaints, and phone inquiries in a timely and professional manner. * Demonstrate confidence in making decisions and resolving most guest concerns independently, involving the Tasting Room Manager when appropriate. * Maintain a visible floor presence and proactively engage with guests to ensure an exceptional experience. Pool Bar & Café Operations * Oversee all front-of-house operations including service, bar operations, guest flow, cleanliness, presentation, and overall guest experience. * Ensure all food and beverage products are prepared, presented, and served according to Company standards and Executive Chef specifications. * Ensure responsible alcohol service practices are followed at all times and take immediate action when guest safety concerns arise. * Monitor labor, sales, guest counts, service levels, and operational performance throughout each shift. * Ensure all equipment, furniture, facilities, and operating areas are maintained in a clean, organized, safe, and guest-ready condition. * Ensure all opening, closing, side work, sanitation, and safety procedures are completed through personal inspection. * Provide support and break coverage for front-of-house associates when operationally necessary while maintaining primary responsibility for managing the operation. Associate Relations and Accountability * Recruit, interview, train, develop, coach, and motivate associates in partnership with Human Resources and the Tasting Room Manager. * Establish clear performance expectations and hold associates accountable for attendance, punctuality, appearance standards, service standards, safety requirements, and Company policies. * Address performance concerns promptly through coaching, documentation, and communication with Human Resources. * Foster a culture of accountability, professionalism, teamwork, respect, and guest-focused hospitality. * Monitor meal periods, rest breaks, scheduling practices, and timekeeping to ensure compliance with California labor laws and Company policies. * Ensure associates remain informed of operational updates, policy changes, and business priorities. Administrative and Financial Responsibilities * Create associate schedules based upon business levels, labor budgets, and operational needs. * Monitor labor costs and staffing levels to ensure financial objectives are achieved. * Review and approve timecards in accordance with Company policies and payroll deadlines. * Complete daily Manager on Duty reports and communicate operational issues, guest concerns, staffing challenges, maintenance needs, and safety concerns to the Tasting Room Manager. * Maintain knowledge of all menus, wine offerings, memberships, promotions, and guest programs. * Monitor inventory levels and coordinate ordering to ensure operational readiness. * Assist in developing, implementing, and maintaining Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). * Collaborate with the Tasting Room Manager, Executive Chef, Human Resources, Facilities, IT, Marketing and other departments to ensure operational excellence. * Perform additional duties as assigned by management. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities * Must be at least 21 years of age. * Minimum three years of hospitality, food and beverage, restaurant, resort, hotel, winery, or bar management experience preferred. * Demonstrated leadership experience managing associates in a fast-paced hospitality environment. * Ability to exercise sound judgment and make timely, effective decisions in situations where policies may not provide a clear answer. * Ability to remain calm, confident, and professional when handling guest concerns, difficult conversations, employee issues, and high-volume operations. * Strong understanding of California labor law compliance, responsible alcohol service, food safety, and workplace safety standards. * Ability to provide direction, coaching, and accountability in a respectful and professional manner. * Strong organizational and time management skills. * Ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities simultaneously. * Demonstrated ability to protect Company assets and consistently follow established policies and procedures. * Energetic, self-motivated, and proactive. * Strong verbal and written communication skills. * Computer proficiency with ADP Workforce Now, Microsoft Word, Excel, Toast POS, Commerce 7 POS, Tock Reservations, and scheduling systems. * Riverside County Food Handler Card required. * Responsible Beverage Service (RBS) Certification required. * Wine knowledge and food-and-wine pairing experience preferred. * Must be able to lift and carry up to 25 pounds. * Must maintain professional appearance and grooming standards consistent with Company guidelines.
