JOB TITLE: Pool Kitchen Cook Reports to: Executive Chef, Sous Chef Pay Rate: $16-18 per hour / based on experience Status: Seasonal Part-Time Position Summary The Pool Kitchen Cook supports food service operations at the club’s pool facility by preparing and executing a streamlined, high-quality menu in a fast-paced private club environment. This role focuses on cold preparation, fryer work, and light cooking (no grill) while maintaining the club’s standards for consistency, cleanliness, and member satisfaction. Essential Job Functions Prepare and execute pool menu items including sandwiches, wraps, salads, snacks, and fried items Perform cold prep and light cooking according to standardized recipes Operate fryers, Pizza oven, Flat top, and other kitchen equipment Set up, maintain, and break down the pool kitchen for daily service Maintain strict adherence to food safety, sanitation, and hygiene standards Ensure consistent portioning, presentation, and quality of all menu items Communicate effectively with servers and management to ensure smooth service Assist with prep, stocking, and inventory control Maintain a clean, organized, and professional kitchen at all times Support pool events, themed menus, and peak service periods as needed Load and unload dishwasher during down periods Benefits Competitive hourly pay based on experience Consistent seasonal scheduling Professional private club work environment Meals during shifts Opportunity for continued seasonal or year-round employment within the club *The statements contained herein describe the scope of the responsibility and essential functions of this position but should not be considered to be an all-inclusive listing of work requirements. Requirements Qualifications Previous kitchen or food service experience preferred Comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-volume environment Knowledge of basic food safety and sanitation practices Strong attention to detail and ability to follow recipes Team-oriented with a positive, professional attitude Ability to work flexible hours including weekends, holidays, and summer peak times Ability to work in warm, outdoor-adjacent kitchen conditions Education/Certificates/Licenses/Training High School Diploma preferred. Culinary degree, vocational school or continuing training in the culinary field preferred. Must obtain any required local and state licenses or certifications. Skills Ability to communicate effectively with managers and employees in a fast-paced environment. Knowledge of fine dining meal preparation preferred. Able to use kitchen tools and appliances safely and effectively. Physical Requirements Ability to stand for extended periods Ability to lift up to 40–50 lbs Ability to work efficiently in warm conditions
