ABOUT YOU

We are looking for enthusiastic individuals passionate about water safety and customer service. The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills and is committed to ensure a enjoyable swimming experience, and maintaining a safe environment for all pool patrons. The ideal candidate should have:

• First Aid Certificate (including CPR)
• A current NSW Working With Children Check.
• A Pool Lifeguard Skill Set (SISSS00111) or willingness to obtain this qualification.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• An ability to work effectively in a team and adapt to changing situations.
• A positive attitude and a commitment to providing exceptional service.

Experience in a lifeguarding role or similar would be advantageous but not essential, as training can be provided.

As a Pool Lifeguard, you will work closely with the Aquatic Centre Coordinator and Team Leaders to ensure the safe and efficient operation of our Council Swimming Pools. Your responsibilities will include:

• Supervising pool patrons to ensure their safety and enjoyment of the facilities.
• Applying Council’s adopted Swimming Pool Operations Manual and NSW Government Practice Note 15 - Water Safety guidelines.
• Performing lifeguard, rescue, and first aid duties as required.
• Assisting with the monitoring and maintenance of swimming pool plant and equipment.
• Maintaining the cleanliness and presentation of facilities, including gardens, pool grounds, and amenities.
