POSITION OVERVIEW

As a Summer Seasonal Pool Manager, you are responsible for supervising lifeguards during scheduled shifts at the pool location, monitoring activities at the assigned pool location, and functioning as a Lifeguard on duty. Providing instructions in pool operating procedures, rules, safety practices and other related matters. Under general supervision, lifeguards will be responsible for ensuring the safety of patrons within the pool area(s) by preventing and responding to emergencies. Lifeguards at the company must always be alert, reliable, and have a strong work ethic. Additionally, there are opportunities for work bonuses and incentive programs for company referrals!

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • Previous lifeguarding and customer service experience is preferred.
  • Current CPR / AED and Lifeguard and First Aid certifications.
  • Ability to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to communicate in multiple languages is an additional asset.
  • Flexibility to work days, nights and / or weekends.
  • Working outdoors for prolonged periods of time.
  • Physical requirements may include: the ability to kneel, bend, reach, climb, stand for long durations of time and lift at least 50 pounds at a time.

Responsibilities
  • Operates as Head Lifeguard on duty and leads other lifeguards during assigned shifts.
  • Participate in the selection, scheduling, and assigning of duties during shifts.
  • Maintain a safe swimming environment by enforcing all rules and regulations of the pool area.
  • Recognize and respond effectively in emergency situations, including administering first aid in the event of injury, rescuing swimmers in distress or danger of drowning, and administering CPR and/or artificial respiration, if necessary.
  • Maintain and complete required training and applicable certifications such as, but not limited to Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR), First Aid, Lifeguarding, AED; etc.
  • Evaluate conditions for safety and initiate an aquatics emergency action plan as required.
  • Inspects pool facilities, equipment, and water to ensure that they are safe and usable.
  • Supervises and assists in cleaning the pool and related facilities and equipment, assists with chlorine residual water tests and with records and charts of water tests and records of accidents, and adds chemicals to pool water as directed.
  • Direct swimmers in and out of the pool in hazardous conditions.
  • Ensure that you provide a high level of customer service in every interaction with clients.
  • Perform any and all cleaning duties as assigned.
  • Adhere and adapt to all current and new company policies, procedures, and initiatives.
  • Report any unsafe conditions or situations that require attention to your supervisor.
  • Wear a corporate/building-approved uniform for each specific location where you are working.
  • Perform additional duties and responsibilities specific to the location/ building and upon the request of your supervisor.
