The Patient Care Technician provides a variety of indirect and direct care, including provision for patient's dependency needs such as nutrition, hygiene, safety, and physical and psychological comfort measures, to patient and significant others, under the supervision of licensed nursing staff. Responsible for performing job duties in accordance with mission, vision, and values. Work is primarily performed in patient settings. Extensive interaction with patients, staff, physicians, family members and visitors. Understanding common medical terms used in patient care and documentation Anatomy and physiology: Basic knowledge of the human body and how different systems function Patient care procedures: Familiarity with tasks like vital signs monitoring, bathing, feeding, and assisting with mobility. Infection control: Knowledge of infection prevention practices and safety protocols in healthcare settings. Electronic Health Records (EHR): Understanding how to navigate and input patient information in electronic health records. Education High School Diploma or GED Certification Basic Life Support (BLS) through American Red Cross or American Heart Association
