* Summary/Objective This position will welcome and provide members and their guests with an enjoyable summer food and beverage experience at the Watering Hole Restaurant located within the pool area. The Pool Server will suggest, recommend, sell and serve food and drinks in a professional manner while creating a sense of personalization and customization to guests. Essential Functions 1. Engage with members with warmth, kindness, and personalized attention. 2. Welcome members with a sincere and warm greeting as they enter the pool area. 3. Ensure that pool guests are promptly greeted with water and menus upon arrival at their seating area to provide an immediate and welcoming experience. 4. Recognize and anticipate guests' needs, respond promptly, and acknowledge all guests, regardless of how busy it is and at any time of the day. 5. Ask about member preferences to gain a deeper understanding of their needs and desires. 6. Ensure that as member preferences are discovered, they are promptly updated in the POS system to provide a personalized and seamless experience for each member. 7. Maintain a positive attitude and foster a positive work environment by displaying a friendly, approachable demeanor even during busy or challenging situations. 8. Prioritize tableside service by proactively taking all food and beverage orders directly from members at their seats. Members should never have to approach the counter to place orders—attentive and efficient tableside service is the expectation. 9. Enhance sales by offering valuable suggestions, recommending menu items, skillfully upselling both non-alcoholic and alcoholic beverages, as well as food options to the guests. 10. Continuously circulate the pool deck to promptly clear tables, ensuring a clean and organized environment, while also anticipating guest needs by offering additional beverages before their current drink is finished. Proactive service is key to enhancing the overall guest experience. 11. Follow the steps of food and beverage service as outlined in the Training Manual. 12. Ensure that each open ticket is associated with the correct pool table or chair so that support staff can help run the food properly. 13. Prepare the Watering Hole according to the opening checklist before the start of service. 14. Use the IPAD POS system to ring orders, manage guest checks, accept different types of payment, and make change. 15. Set up and break down for Food and Beverage Events, including chairs, tables, glassware, and other tabletop wares. 16. Responsible for thorough opening and closing procedures for service staff, including completion of side work tasks. 17. Demonstrate flexibility by willingly taking on different roles and responsibilities based on business needs, ensuring a smooth operation during peak hours. 18. Check identification of members to ensure they are of legal age to consume alcoholic beverages. Refuse service in a polite manner to members who are not of legal age. 19. Ensure the highest level of caution and safety measures are strictly adhered to for allergies, in accordance with the procedures outlined in the training manual. 20. Clear tables and pool chairs in accordance with established standards during service. 21. Promptly clear pool area & tables, ensuring they are wiped before attending to any back-of-house side work. 22. Ensure the pool deck and back-of-house areas remain clean and well-organized. 23. Ensure proper care and cleanliness of serving equipment. Do not grab glassware by the rim of the glass. 24. Ensure that all food and beverage items are correctly stored, labeled, dated, and rotated to prevent health or safety hazards. Take precautions against spoilage. 25. Collaborate as a team and effectively communicate with management to fulfill and address any issues or needs requested by members and associates. 26. Inform the manager of all guest comments and complaints. 27. Capability to interact with customers effectively while proficiently managing side work duties such as delivering drinks, serving food, and polishing glassware, among other responsibilities. 28. Possess comprehensive knowledge about all departmental functions and the daily operations of the club, including events and operating hours. 29. Maintain complete knowledge of all menu items, preparation methods/times, ingredients, and quality standards, including taste, appearance, texture, serving temperature, portion size, garnish, and presentation. 30. Capability to handle a minimum of 3 heavy plates and transport fully loaded beverage trays containing various cocktails and other service-related items throughout the service period. 31. Work Environment This position operates in an indoor and outdoor restaurant setting. The noise level in the work environment can be loud. The employee may be exposed to hazards including, but are not limited to, cuts, slipping, tripping, falls and burns. Frequent hand washing is required. Days and hours of work are typically daily from 11-6 PM and may be adjusted for business needs. Ability to work weekends, holidays, days, and nights with flexible hours. Required Education and Experience A high school diploma or equivalent. Previous restaurant experience required. Preferred Education and Experience * Understanding of basic cocktails and/or bartending experience is preferred. * Prior experience in a restaurant fine dining or refined service position preferred. Additional Eligibility Qualifications Must be fluent in English speaking, reading and writing.
