Our client, a world leader in life sciences and diagnostics, is looking for a “Population Health Insights Lead/Epidemiologist” based out of South San Francisco, CA. Job Duration: Long Term Contract (Possibility Of Extension) Pay Rate : $67/hr on W2 Company Benefits: Medical, Dental, Vision, Paid Sick leave, 401K Global Access organization is seeking a highly skilled Population Health Insights Lead to deliver evidence-based epidemiological expertise across the product lifecycle. In this role, you will generate, validate, and maintain epidemiological forecasts that support strategic planning, global access initiatives, and business development activities. You will collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure accuracy, alignment, and consistency of epidemiology assumptions for therapeutic portfolio. This position plays a critical role in shaping patient access strategies, informing long-term planning, and supporting the evolution of client’s digital and analytical capabilities. Key Responsibilities: Epidemiology Forecasting & Analysis Develop, update, and validate epidemiological patient forecasts for assigned diseases/therapeutic areas across clinical development phases. Conduct population-level and subgroup modeling to support access, commercial, and strategic decisions. Generate reproducible forecasts using advanced statistical programming (R preferred). Evidence Generation & Data Management Identify, evaluate, and extract high-quality epidemiological data from publications, health statistics, surveillance databases, disease registries, and real-world data sources. Conduct literature reviews and contribute to evidence synthesis efforts, including meta-analyses. Programming & Digital Innovation Develop, optimize, and maintain R code for epidemiology forecasting using newly implemented digital platforms. Contribute to process digitalization and new ways of working across Population Health Insights and Global Access. Publication & Knowledge Sharing Prepare and present epidemiology analyses internally and externally at scientific meetings or publications. Develop knowledge management tools and best practices for storing and sharing epidemiology insights. Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree (BA/BS) in Epidemiology, Public Health, Biostatistics, Statistics, Biology, Population Health, Pharmacology, Biomedical Sciences, or related scientific discipline. (Master’s degree is a plus.) Experience 4+ years of hands-on experience in epidemiology, population health, health outcomes research, real-world evidence, or related analytical fields. Experience may come from pharma, biotech, CROs, public health agencies, research institutions, or academia. Experience with epidemiological study design, data interpretation, and the application of epidemiology in healthcare decision-making. Technical Skills Strong proficiency in R (preferred) or SAS, statistical analysis, and epidemiological modeling. Advanced Excel skills. Knowledge of epidemiological principles, population health methodologies, and disease surveillance systems. Experience with real-world data (RWD) and health technology assessment (HTA) frameworks is a strong advantage.
