The New Porgera Limited now has a vacancy for a qualified and experienced individual as Officer - Asset Protection (238953) About the role Reporting to the Chief Duty Officer (CDO), the Asset Protection officer will be supervising local security employees in their day-to-day function as well as providing security to the New Porgera mine site and its associated installations. The role is to maintain Security across the Mining Operations by monitoring and reporting of civil disturbances and breaches of safety and other company policies. A high level of competency is required. This role is an operational field role requiring team work. In this role, you will: Maintain Security across the Mining Operations Carry out tasks as directed by the Chief Duty Officer or Superintendent Must be able to communicate effectively with Security Control during shifts Maintain production by responding to security threats and incidents Maintain security and safety for all personnel and company property Management and support on methods to minimize security risk from internal and external theft of company assets and provide comprehensive report and recommendation to management and or Police. Maintain a high level of health, safety and environmental awareness and comply with all relevant NPL policies & procedures. About You To succeed in this role, the ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications and experiences: Have a minimum of Grade 10 Certificate or higher Have a minimum of 6 years Police/Military experience Be Physically fit and able to walk on your feet for extended periods Be prepared to work a 12 hours day/ night shift under all weather conditions Provide an original copy of verified Military or Police discharge order / signal Be able to drive a manual vehicle confidently and have a valid PNG Drivers licence Have a very good understanding of working safely Have the ability to work unsupervised and working shifts Have sound knowledge of Security Protocol with a wide-ranging experience in effective Security Command Control and Communication, Detention Procedures, Arrest Procedures, Human Rights Laws, Security Search, Security “Use of Force Mobilization Requirement This position is open to PNG Citizens Only Rotation of 21 days on and 14 days off Must successfully pass a pre-employment medical including drug and alcohol screening. (This will be arranged only for successful candidates who progress after the interview stage). Must Have an up-to-date Police Clearance Certificate (acquired within the last 6 months) Possess a PNG valid driver‘s licence Posses a PNG NID card Ability to foresee security inadequacies and implement plans to correct them.
