PORK PRODUCTION TECHNICIAN

People & Culture Services is recruiting on behalf of a family-owned agricultural business, located near Tavistock, Ontario. We are looking for a Pork Production Technician to join the team

REQUIREMENTS FOR APPLICATION:

• Desire to keep the animals and the barn in excellent condition
• Able to read, write and speak English
• Able to work in a fast-paced environment

• Ensure all animals have access to feed and water
• Handle and move animals as needed
• Perform production tasks including heat checking, breeding, farrowing, piglet processing, weaning and vaccinating
• Perform regular health checks to recognize and treat livestock health problems
• Administer medications as needed
• Record various information to maintain livestock production records
• Perform general barn maintenance including pressure washing, disinfecting pens and other housekeeping activities
• Follow all biosecurity procedures
