At Eagle Transport Corporation, we are continuing to grow our team in the Southeast, and hiring great team members is critical to our success. As a Dispatcher, you will play a key role in providing the best customer experience to both our drivers and our external customers, supporting our commitment of Eagle Transport as the carrier of choice.
At the time of posting, the Dispatcher role is for a 12-hour day shift schedule (6am-6pm), four days on and three days off. Days off to be determined.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure that all drivers complete Vehicle Condition Reports on each unit driven daily, distributing appropriate copies as required
  • Review Driver Report at end of shift and key data into the system for load completion
  • Ensure that all drivers complete daily logs in compliance with D.O.T. rules and regulations
  • Schedule loads in the AS400 Dispatch System, generating and delivering paperwork accordingly
  • Schedule preventive maintenance with Fleet Service Technicians
  • Monitor and report any misuse, neglect, or abuse of equipment
  • Ensure all dispatched units are in safe working order, without any serious mechanical fault
  • Maintain a pre-determined yet flexible plan for daily duties, updating and adjusting based on business needs
  • Promptly and accurately report any accidents to the Terminal Manager
  • Monitor and report driver attendance and any other circumstances that would impact a driver’s ability to perform their duties safely
  • Create & support an environment of mutual cooperation and communication between the dispatch office and all other departments
  • Working in conjunction with the Terminal Manager, advise of any critical needs that would impact daily terminal operations

Qualifications:

  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Strong computer skills (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Highly organized, with the ability to handle multiple priorities
  • Knowledge of the geographic area
